Energy efficiency and conservation is the smartest and easiest first step the Tribe can make. Payback is immediate from the time efficiency upgrades and conservation is implemented.Goal #1: of the energy efficiency and conservation program is to reduce energy use and costs to Tribal members and the Tribe.Goal #2: is to minimize environmental impacts of current and future development of Tribal energy projects through energy efficiency, conservation, education, and outreach.Goal #3: Work with consultants and assist with creating a comprehensive strategic plan for the Nez Perce Tribe which will direct and focus work for energy development for the Tribe. Moreover, energy planning is critical for empowering the Tribe to be proactive and self-sufficient at a time when energy markets and resources are becoming more volatile. |
